Mr. Bernard Jankowski

Bernard A Jankowski, 82, of Kingsford Heights, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Countryside in La Porte. He was born May 22, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Anthony Jankowski and Charlotte (Nezondet) Jankowski. Bernard worked thirty-three years as a machinist retiring from Allis-Chalmers in 1982. He was an avid fisherman. On August 13, 1955, in Crown Point, IN, he married Elizabeth Mae (Jennings) Jankowski, who preceded him in death August 29, 1999. He is survived by his 3 sons - John (Andi Malitz) Jankowski of Chicago, IL, Timothy (Veronica) Jankowski of Tucson, AZ, James (Indiana) Jankowski of South Bend, IN; 2 grandchildren - Christopher and Cassandra Jankowski of Tucson, AZ; 2 sisters - Georgette Connett of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Jackie Tincher of Morristown, TN. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents and and wife, Ellizabeth Mae Jankowski. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & Monday, January 9, 2012 from 9:30 am, until time of service. A Life Celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10:30 am with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick, officiating.
