Mrs. Minnie Adell Branscomb, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, died Thursday April 8, 2010 in her home. She was born August 2, 1928 in Talladega, Alabama, the daughter of James Heath and Alice Owens Heath. Minnie had lived in the LaPorte, area, for fifty-two years coming from Alabama. Minnie worked at American Home Foods for several years. She then worked as a nursing assistant for Woodview Rehabilitation and then had a South Bend Tribune motor route for ten years before retiring. On May 12, 1967, in Chicago, IL, she married John Branscomb who preceded her in death May 28, 1996. She is survived by her four sons; Billy Ray Susan Adams of Kingsford Heights, IN, Cecil Arlen Adams of Wichita Falls, TX, David Joe Adams of La Porte, IN, Randy Lee Adams of La Porte, IN; one daughter, Debbie Dino Chakedis Bowerman of La Porte, IN; daughter-in-law, Pamela Adams of Michigan City, IN; twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty-seven great- grandchildren; two brothers Bill Heath of Orlando, FL, Lawrence Heath of Birmingham, AL and two sisters Frances Knowles of Dothan, AL, Louise Dorman of AL. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Thomas Earl Adams, William Eugene Adams, seven brothers and sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, April 12, 2010 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday April 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Margaret Hunt, officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the: LaPorte Co. Animal Shelter 2855 W. Ind. 2 LaPorte, IN. 46350.
