Mildred Shipton

Mildred M. Shipton, 108, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born August 23, 1902 in Union Mills, Indiana, the daughter of John Geisler and Hattie Arnett Geisler. Mildred was a member of the Eastern Star Auxilliary, Eagles Auxillary #2439, and Center Twp. Fire Bells. On April 28, 1923, in South Bend, IN, she married Orion Shipton who preceded her in death August 15, 1984. She is survived by her son - Willis Raymond Shipton of Westminster, CO; six grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren, and one great great great-grandchild. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, Dan Shipton; four sisters, seven brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, March 14, 2011 from 11:00 am until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, on March 14, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Sally Wicks officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
