Michael R. Starnes October 7, 1956-March 24, 2014 Mr. Michael R. Starnes, 57, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday March 24, 2014 at his home in La Porte. He was born October 7, 1956 in Saint Louis, Missouri, the son of Alfred Starnes and Alice (White) Starnes. He is survived by his daughter - Shelly Barnes of Michigan City, IN; 4 grandchildren - Billy, Hayden, Makyla and Thomas Barnes; 5 brothers - Kent A. Starnes of Lodson, NC; Carl Starnes of Enville, TN; Richard Starnes of La Porte, IN, Christopher Starnes of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Gregory Starnes of Michigan City, IN; special friends - Debbie and Paul Gliva of La Porte, IN, and many relatives and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Charles "Butch" Starnes. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN.
