Michael Wayne Petrie November 27, 1957-December 7, 2013 Mr. Michael Wayne Petrie, 56, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday December 7, 2013 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born November 27, 1957 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Arch Petrie and Jean (Decker) Petrie. Michael was a retired truck driver for Linde Gas after 16 years of service. He is currently driving for Williams Transport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Michigan City, IN. On July 27, 1979, in La Porte, IN, he married Catherine Kaczmarek Petrie who survives. He is also survived by his son - Michael James (Rachael) Petrie of La Porte, IN; 2 daughters - Julie Ann Shoaf of La Porte, IN, Connie "CJ" (Jason) Hlinovsky of La Porte, IN; 3 Grandchildren - Nolan Shoaf, Addison Hlinovsky, Erica Petrie; brother-in-law - Russ (Carol) Kaczmarek and several nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, Katie LeeAnn Shoaf, and a sister, Janice Hiscox. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 9:00 am - until time of the service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday December 11, 2013 at 10:00 am with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating.
