Michael J. Nichols January 4, 1966-October 13, 2009 Mr. Michael John Nichols, 43, of Hamlet, Indiana, died Tuesday October 13, 2009 at his home. He was born January 4, 1966 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of John W. Nichols and Georgia R. Marrow Nichols. Michael worked in construction for NOVA; he also was a talented finish carpenter. He was a member of the Teamster Union #298. Michael was a wonderful father; he cared for and loved his children. Michael loved being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting and camping. He is survived by his mother, Georgia R. Nichols of Hamlet, IN.; three daughters, Trinity Ann Peacock of Andalusia, AL, Shelby Leann Nichols of LaPorte, IN, Katie Michelle Nichols of LaPorte, IN; son, Joseph Michael Nichols of LaPorte, IN; loving friend & mother of his children, Lori Nichols of LaPorte, IN; three sisters, Rose Cherie George Seabolt of Bringhurst, IN, Denise Ellen Nichols of LaPorte, IN, Carla Jean Brown of Hamlet, IN; cousin, Claudette Niegos of Midland, TX; two nieces and three nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his father and brother, Gary Nichols. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, October 16, 2009 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 9:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday October 17, 2009 at 10:00 am, with Rev. David Hill officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery LaPorte, Indiana.
