Melvin Moore

Mr. Melvin Moore, age 85, of La Porte, Ind., died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at 2:40 PM at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born November 23, 1920 in Detroit, Mich. to the late Jess Moore and the late Margaret Moore. He has lived in the LaPorte area since 1962. Mr. Moore was employed by Brown's Trucking of Michigan City, Ind. for 30 years retiring in 1983. He enjoyed camping, motor-homes, fishing and tractors. He is a Veteran of the US Army during WW II. On March 14, 1942 in Detroit, Mich. he married Violet Albright who survives. He is also survived by his Three Daughters, Mrs. Darlene Harris of Michiana Shores, Ind., Mrs. Karen Larry Doll of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Laurie Steve Johnson of Kingsbury, Ind.; Three Sons, Mr. Ron Ann Moore of Tulsa, Okla., Mr. Gordon Paula Moore of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Mr. Richard May Moore of La Porte, Ind.; Nine grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; and One Sister, Betty of Grand Rapids, Mich. He is preceded in death by his parents and One Sister, Eleanor. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 21, 2006, Pastor Roger Ash officiating. Interment will be at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, Ind.
