Mary Schoff

Mary Annette Schoff, 89, of Union Mills, IN, died Wednesday, July 15, 2011 at Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital in LaPorte. She was born November 17, 1921 in Union Mills, Indiana, the daughter of John "Burr" B. Ellis and Lola (Stinchcomb) Ellis. Mary worked twenty-seven years for Howmet Corp, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Tracy United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 434 Auxiliary, and the Ostomy Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading. On October 22, 1941, in Walkerton, IN, she married Ralph Schoff who survives. She is also survived by her two sons - Steven (Teena) Schoff of Union Mills, IN, Charles Schoff of Kingsford Heights, IN; one daughter - Nancy (David) Draves of Kingsford Heights, IN; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; daughter-in-law - Betty Schoff of La Porte, IN., and one brother - Dale Ellis of Hamlet, IN. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Schoff, and two grandaughters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm and Monday, July 18, 2011 from 10:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday July 18, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert Coolman officiating. Interment will follow at the Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, IN.
