Mary Newland

Mrs. Mary B. Newland, 80, of 308 Oberreich St., LaPorte, died Thursday, November 18, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at her home. She was born December 25, 1923, in Logansport, IN. to Herman and Anna Beck Gruenoch and has lived in the LaPorte area for the last 46 years. Mrs. Newland worked at Kabelin?s True Value Hardware as a clerk for 32 years, after retirement she went back to work at McDonalds for an additional 6 years. On June 5, 1982, in LaPorte, she married Eugene S. Newland, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Anna Louise Janes of LaPorte, IN., Mrs. Ivah May Plank of LaPorte, Mrs. Rose Marie Joe Banghart of LaPorte; one son, Michael T. Dianne Phillips of LaPorte, IN. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. Preceded her in death where her parents; one daughter, Cheryl Phillips; one granddaughter; one sister and one brother. The funeral will be Saturday November 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Capt. Jo Langham officiating. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday form 8 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
