Mary Mcafee

Mrs. Mary Sue McAfee, age 90, of New Carlisle, Ind., died Friday, April 25, 2008, at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle, Ind. She was born April 20, 1918 in Petersburg, Tenn. to the late Joseph Bascomb Luna and the late Maggie Lou Reynolds Luna. She has lived in the New Carlisle area since 1953 coming from Tennessee. Mrs. McAfee was employed by Howmet Corp. and was a member of Prairie Garden Christian Fellowship of New Carlisle, IN. She was a great cook and seamstress, she spent many hours making clothing for children in an orphanage and she always cooked a large meal for the family every Sunday. On March 17, 1935 in Giles Co. Tennessee she married Chester Paul McAfee who preceded in death February 9, 1995. She is survived by her Daughter, Mrs. Barb Eldon Arndt of New Carlisle, Ind.; Son, Mr. Thomas McAfee of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Sister-in-law, Mrs. Duff McAfee of Pulaski, Tenn.; Nine grandchildren; and Thirty One great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister, Nancy Ward; 5 Brothers, Howard, Lloyd, James, Pat, Andrew; and Two Great Grandchildren, Tyler McAfee and Michael Arndt. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 28, 2008 and 10:00 AM Tues until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 29, 2008, Rev. Bob Baird officiating. Interment will be at Rolling Prairie Cemetery in Rolling Prairie, Ind.
