Mary Hughes

Mary Ann Hughes February 1, 1956-October 11, 2018 Mary Ann (Opoka) Hughes, age 62, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away Oct. 11, 2018, in La Porte. She was born to the late Edward and Margaret (Pietrzak) Opoka on Feb. 1, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa. She is survived by her son James (Noelle) Marshall of Wisconsin; three daughters, Carol (David) Stacy of La Porte, Wendi Houtz of La Porte and Peggy Marshall of Illinois; seven grandchildren, Isabell, Angella, Wyatt, Destiny, Peyton, Kalie and Katie; one brother, Frank Opoka of Illinois; and two sisters, Fran Miller of Hudson Lake and Margie Largen of Illinois. Mary is preceded in death by her son, Jeffre Houtz. Mary enjoyed time with her family, crocheting and antiquing. The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, beginning at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave, La Porte. A life celebration will commence at 1 p.m. with Pastor Gary Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
