Mary Edwards

Mrs. Mary I. Edwards, 92, of South Bend, Indiana passed away Thursday July 8, 2004 at Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Indiana. Born May 18, 1912 in Valley View, Texas to Joseph R. and Julia Howard Reeves. On October 26, 1929 in Vernon, Texas she married William N. Edwards, who preceded October 3, 1977. She was owner operator of Edwards Christmas Tree Farm. Also a member of First Christian Church of Knox, Indiana, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #280 of LaPorte, Indiana, United Methodist Women of Colburn, Indiana. Surviving are two daughters; A. Rev. Howard Jean Ness of Lafayette, Indiana, Mary Lou Dennis Ness of South Bend, Indiana, one sister; Julia Ruth Smith of Texas. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, one son; William Edwards and several brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 17, 2004 at Haverstock Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Ness officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Colburn united Methodist church or Alzheimer?s Disease Research.
