Mary Condon

Mrs. Mary M. Condon, 90, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday May 29, 2010 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte. She was born December 5, 1919 in Winamac, Indiana, the daughter of George Hill and Nellie Mc Fadden Hill. Mary had lived in LaPorte, since 1940, coming from Chicago, Illinois. Mary worked as a bookkeeper for Olga's Fashion Store for fifteen years and for the A & P Supermarket for twelve years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Naomi Circle of the church, past member of Auxilliary Moose #980 of Michigan City, IN., Over 40's Dance Club & D&E Dance Club, Friendly Neighbors Home Ec. Club, past member of Women's Christian Senior Literary. She enjoyed playing cards and liked camping. On November 10, 1946, in LaPorte, IN, she married Thomas Condon who survives. She is also survived by her two daughters - Barbara Jerry Piotrowicz of Bradenton, FL, Kathleen Wolfe of Seattle, WA; four grandchildren - Brian Piotrowicz, Joanne Sprague, Michael Wolfe, Scott Wolfe, and four great- grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Pearl Placier, and two brothers, Walter Hill, Raymond Hill. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, June 2, 2010 12:00 pm, until time of services. Service will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday June 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
