Marjorie Scherer

Mrs. Marjorie Elizabeth Warner Scherer, age 88, of LaPorte, Ind., died 1:30 AM Monday, October 29, 2007, at Beverly LivingCenter -Fountainview in La Porte, Ind. She was born November 29, 1918 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Frederick Warner and the late Bessie Bayer Warner. She has been a life long resident of the LaPorte area. Mrs. Scherer was employed by Stelrema Corp. and retired in 1982, she had also worked at Indiana Molding and Frame Co. She was a member of The First Christian Church or Rolling Prairie, Ind. and a past member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also a member of V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary #1130. On August 1, 1936 she married Lester Scherer who preceded her in death on March 24, 1960. She is survived by her Daughter Mrs. Sandra Young of La Porte, Ind.; a Son, Mr. Richard Joy Scherer of Mulberry, Fla.; Eight grandchildren; Seventeen great-grandchildren; Six great-great grandchildren a Brother, Donald Betty Warner of Leesburg, Fla. and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, a grandson; Four Brothers, and One Sister. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 1, 2007 , Bro. Ransom Ebersole Officiating. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
