Marjorie Bunton

Marjorie E. Bunton February 5, 1915 - July 21, 2009 Mrs. Marjorie Ethel Bunton, 94, formerly of LaPorte, IN., died July 21, 2009 at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Union Mills, IN. She was born on February 5, 1915 in LaPorte, IN. to Irvin and Sylvia Stickley Rehlander. Marjorie enjoyed working and being with people. Her employment included Kingsbury Ordinance Plant, American Rubber, a care-giver, Town Crier, Schaffer's Laundry, American Home Foods, Holiday Inn and Wal-Mart; she retired at eighty years old. She found enjoyment in her pets, vegetable and flower gardens, neighbors, yard work, cleaning her home, baking pies for friends and family and watching LaPorte Slicers and IU basketball. She also appreciated and loved her church family. Marjorie was a child of God and had a zest for life and was a grateful and thankful person. She cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters. Marjorie was a good mother. On February 5, 1932 in LaPorte, IN., she married Gilbert William Bunton, who passed away on July 2, 2002. Surviving is a son, Gilbert Jane Bunton, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN.; daughter, Cheryl Bill Meyers of Union Mills, IN.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one brother, William Rehlander of Rolling Prairie, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; one child, Beverly Dinkens; one grandchild and one great-grandchild; eight sisters, Geneva Rehlander, Pauline Rehlander, Helen Burden, Dorothy Schultz, Mildren Meyers, Minnie Starkweather, Mae Ebeling and Genevieve Singleton and six brothers, Floyd, Clarence, Archie, Eugene, Ervin and John Rehlander. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave. LaPorte, IN. where the family will receive friends, Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday, July 24, 2009 from 12:00 pm, until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Friday, July 24, 2009 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Everett Shattuck, officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
