Marjorie Blank

Marjorie Lou Blank July 6, 1930-January 15, 2017 Marjorie L. Blank of LaPorte passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 in IU Health LaPorte Hospital. She was born in Wabash, Indiana on July 6, 1930 to Thurman and Susan (Mossman) Routt. They later moved to LaPorte, IN. in 1942. Marjorie graduated from LaPorte High School in 1948. On April 21, 1950, she married Robert R. Blank of LaPorte, who preceded her in death on March 28, 2005. She is survived by her three children, Randall R. Blank of LaPorte, Nancy (Les) Levenhagen of La Porte, and Cynthia Blank of Bloomington, IN; also there are four grandchildren, Sarah Belle of Frederick, Maryland, Tara (Mike) Riley of Indianapolis, IN, Mark Levenhagen of LaPorte and Rhett (Julia) Umphress of Avon, CT, and one great-grandaughter, Emersyn Riley of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by one sister, Carolyn Shaw of LaPorte, IN and several nephews and nieces. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Barbara Biggs and three brothers, Allen Routt, Frederick Routt and John Routt. Mrs. Blank was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of NARFE (National Association Retired Federal Employees) and American Legion Auxiliary Post #83, Veteran's of Foreign War Auxiliary Post 1130. also AARP, HealthPorte of LaPorte Hospital, past member of LaPorte Women's Bowling Association. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana 46350, where a private family service will take place with Rev. Noel Olse, officiating.
