Marilyn Rehlander

Marilyn Rehlander August 7, 1938-August 10, 2009 Mrs. Marilyn Rehlander, 71, of Mill Creek, Indiana, died Monday August 10, 2009 at her home in Mill Creek. She was born August 7, 1938 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Walker Adam Wolff and Violet Fern Campbell Wolff. She was a graduate of Mill Creek High School in 1956; graduate of Indiana State Teacher's College now Indiana State University in 1960. She taught elementary level in Maine, Indiana, Ohio and Arizona. Marilyn retired in 2005 from John Glenn School Corporation where she taught resource class at North Liberty Elementary School. She loved to teach and she touched many lives with this gift. On December 27, 1959 at St. John's Lutheran Church, in LaPorte, IN, she married Dewey Rehlander who survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Carrie Rehlander of LaPorte, IN; son, Matthew Denise Rehlander of Plymouth, MA; grandchildren, Sara and Rachel Steigely of LaPorte, IN, Jessica, Jacob and Johanna Rehlander of Plymouth, MA; brother, Gerald Betty Wolff of Walkerton, IN; and a brother-in-law, Nuelan Rehlander of Mishawaka, IN. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Walker Lee "Butch" Wolff and grandchildren, Adam & Meghan Steigely. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, August 14, 2009 from 9:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday August 14, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Richard G. Blair officiating. Interment will follow at the Walkerton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mill Creek Baptist Church, Mill Creek, Indiana or Shriner's Hospital for Children Chicago, Illinois.
