Marguerite Nowicki

Marguerite Nowicki, 84, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday January 30, 2009 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born April 28, 1924 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Glenn Claypool and Margaret Henderschott Claypool and had lived in the LaPorte area, all of her life. Marguerite worked as a Cook-Bartender for Sidetrack Bar, retiring in 1986. She loved being with her grandchildren and enjoyed baking cookies and candy. On June 27, 1946, in LaPorte, IN, she married John Nowicki who preceded in death June 20, 1959. She is survived by her two sons, Randal Susan Nowicki of La Porte, IN, Leon Betty Nowicki of Rolling Prairie, IN; Six Grandchildren; Seven Great-grandchildren . Marguerite was preceded in death by father, Glenn Claypool; mother, Margaret Claypool; husband, John Nowicki; son, Robert Nowicki; six sisters, Leah Shipton, Jessie Lowe, Vera Zebell, Mildred Kastus, Cora Metheny, Edith Raven, and one brother, Glenn Claypool. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, February 02, 2009 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. There will be no service.
