Margaret Okrzesik

Mrs. Margaret L. Okrzesik, age 71, of La Porte, Ind., died 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at her home in La Porte, Ind. She was born February 9, 1937 in Detroit, Mich. to the late Emmett Smith and the late Sadie Harris Smith. She has lived all of her life in the LaPorte area. Mrs. Okrzesik was employed by American Home Foods and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also was a Cub Scout Den Leader, CCD teacher and liked to read and crochet. On July 31, 1954 in LaPorte Ind. she married Frank J. Okrzesik who survives. She is also survived by One Daughter, Karen Okrzesik of Kingsford Heights, Ind.; Two Sons, Mr. Dennis Connie Okrzesik of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Mr. David Krista Okrzesik of Granger, Ind.; Two Sisters, Mrs. Patricia Porter of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Norma Zimmerman of La Porte, Ind., One Brother, Mr. Robert Smith of Fairdealing, Mo.; Five grandchildren; and One great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Two Sisters, Bernadine Gibson, Jean Cannan and One Brother Leon Smith. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 13, 2008 and 8:00 AM to 10:15 AM Saturday June 14, 2008. Funeral service will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 14, 2008, Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek, Ind.
