Marcia L.Skinner September 28, 1944-December 12, 2018 Marcia L. Skinner, 74, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 28, 1944 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Milburn Oberlander and Marian (Thompson) Oberlander. Marcia was a member of the La Porte School PTO System and a girl scout leader for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and on Wednesday's she loved having dessert at Christo's with her girlfriends. On September 26, 1972, in Evansville,Indiana, she married Larry E. Skinner who preceded in death October 31, 2003. She is survived by her three daughters, Mindy (Ronnie) Daugherty of Westville, IN, Melanie Mercado of La Porte, IN, Suzanne (Tedra) Ashley-Wannemehler of Champaign, IL; son, Dennis (Cindy) Skinner of Newburgh, IN; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and life long best friend, Della Wittgren of Hanna, IN. Marcia was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, and her twin sister, Margot Renihan. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, December 14, 2018, from 9:00 am till 11:00 am. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday December 14, 2018 at 11:00 am with Dennis Skinner officiating.
