Mae Ebeling

Mrs. Mae G. Ebeling, age 89, of La Porte, Ind., died 7:30 AM Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. She was born October 27, 1917 in Rolling Prairie, Ind. to the late Irvin Rehlander and the late Sylvia Stickley Rehlander. Mrs. Ebeling was employed by Howmet Corp. and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was also a member of St. John's Altar Guild, St. John's Thrift Shop, she sang in the Walter League Choir, and member of the Senior Center. She was an avid bridge player, also played euchre at the Senior Center, and enjoyed baking. On April 19, 1941 in LaPorte she married Marvin H. Ebeling who preceded in death April 26, 1945. She remarried on August 30, 1946 in LaPorte to Clarence C. Ebeling who preceded December 1, 1978. She is also survived by her Two Daughters, Mrs. Sharon Jeffrey Wick of Salem, Wis., Mrs. Sally Earl Golightly of Michigan City, Ind.; One grandchild Mr. Christopher McCoy of Round Lake Beach, IL.; Two Sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Bunton of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Genevieve Singleton of Dowagiac, Mich., Two Brothers, Mr. Eugene Rehlander of La Porte, Ind., Mr. William Rehlander of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 3, 2007 and from 9:00 AM Friday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:00 AM Friday, May 4, 2007, Rev. Ronald A. Brauer and Rev. David Young officiating. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church General Fund or St. John's Alter Guild Fund.
