Mable Miller

Mrs. Mable J. Miller, 70, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday June 19, 2009 at her home in La Porte, IN. She was born December 23, 1938 in Berrien Springs, Michigan, the daughter of Samuel Belcher and Lora Irvin Belcher. Mable worked as a supervisor for 26 years at Howmet Corp. she also worked at Chromalloy Casting in Florida for 4 years. She was an auxiliary driver for the American Cancer Society while living in Florida. On August 1, 1975, in Kingsford Heights, IN, she married Jan A. Miller who preceded in death November 10, 2003. She is survived by her companion William Landi of LaPorte, IN; two sons, James Melissa Wingett III of Indianapolis, IN, Ronald Wingett of Vincennes, IN; daughter Marjouri Bill Weldon of La Porte, IN; step-son Terry Becky Miller of Bass Lake, IN; sister Judy Meyers of GA; and seven grandchildren. Mable was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four children, four sisters and one brother. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, June 23, 2009 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday June 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Ian Williams officiating. Cremation will follow.
