Lynus Giberson

Mr. Lynus Carl "Butch" Giberson, 90, of La Porte, Indiana, died Thursday January 21, 2010 at La Porte Hospital. He was born March 9, 1919 in Ceylon, Minnesota, the son of Henry G. Giberson and Elisabeth Baumiles Giberson. Lynus had worked for Beatty Memorial Hospital. He was the first president of the Moose Lodge of Michigan City, IN. On May 16, 1941, in DaKota County, Nebraska, he married Louise Anfinson who preceded him in death on March 25, 1967. On June 20, 1975, in LaPorte, IN, he married EvLyn Giberson who preceded him in death on February 20, 1998. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Smith of Sarasota, FL; step-daughter, Jeanne Thompson of Leesburg, FL; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two sisters. Lynus was preceded in death by his parents, step daughter, Sandra Bolinger, two sisters, and two brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind.
