Lyle Brinckman

Lyle Arlen Brinckman December 8, 1931-February 26, 2016 Mr. Lyle Arlen Brinckman, 84, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday February 26, 2016 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. He was born December 8, 1931 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Arthur L. Brinckman and Beulah (Prestin) Brinckman. Lyle operated Springville Truck Garage for many years and retired from the Michiana Gas Services after 22 years of service. After retirement he operated Lyle's Place off of 125 W. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He served in France as a member of the Amo Dump. He was a member of the Springfield Twp. Fire Dept. and was the 1st Fire Chief when the department was started. He was also a member of the Lakeland Fire Dept. Lyle has also been a Deacon of the World Wide Church of God and a member of the Free Methodist Church. On April 2, 1955, in New Carlisle, IN, he married Georgetta Goldsberry Brinckman who preceded in death November 14, 2010. He is survived by his two sons, Thad (Ella) Brinckman, Brad (Lori) Brinckman; two daughters, Bonnie L. Smith, Darlene L. Delco; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and sister, Joyce Schaub. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, February 29, 2016, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday February 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating and Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion - V.F.W. Honor Guard. Private burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana.
