LuAn Blaze March 15, 1933-August 7, 2009 Mrs. LuAn Blaze, 76, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday August 7, 2009 at the home of her daughter in La Porte, IN. She was born March 15, 1933 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Ernest Chapman and Ramona Holtz Chapman. LuAn worked as a Finisher for 27 years for American Rubber and retired in 1999. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and loved spending time with her family and friends. On June 20, 1956, in LaPorte, she married Lawrence Blaze who preceded in death November 10, 1987. She is survived by her son Michael Jackie Blaze of La Porte, IN; daughter Marsha Blaze of La Porte, IN; 4 grandchildren, Jayson, Jeremy, Melisa, Matthew; 10 great-grandchildren; brother David Chapman of Connersville, IN; brother-in-law Donald Blaze of La Porte, IN and a half sister Phyllis Metheny of Michigan City, IN. LuAn was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Robert Chapman. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, August 12, 2009 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. A memorial services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday August 12, 2009 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Helen Nusbaum officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
