Mr. Louis M. Daube, age 78, of Walkerton, Ind., died 9:15 AM Sunday, March 5, 2006, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born November 13, 1927 in St. Joseph Co., Ind. to the late Charles Daube and the late Alma Pope Daube. He has lived in the LaPorte County area all of his life. Mr. Daube was a retired farmer. He graduated from Union Township High School. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, LaPorte Co. Agricultural Assn. Fair Board, serving as President, Vice President, most recently as Secretary-Manager, Indiana Farm Bureau, Veteran of US Army during WW II, American Legion Post #356 of Hamlet, IN., Thirty-Second Degree Mason and a member of the North Liberty Lodge #266, Scottish Rite of South Bend, Orak Temple of Michigan City, the John Purdue Club since 1978, Indiana Association of County and District Fairs, Past President. On September 5, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church of LaPorte, Ind. he married Nancy Mitchell who survives. He is also survived by Two Daughters, Mrs. Linda Jerry Bova of Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Diana Mooers of East Northport, N.Y.; One Son, -Mr. Stephen Veronica Daube of Walkerton, Ind.; Four grandchildren, Megan Mooers of East Northport, NY, Mrs. Ashley David Miles of Wells, ME., Lesa Daube and Amanda Daube both of LaPorte, Ind.; Three Brothers, Mr. Charles Irma Daube of Walkerton, Ind., Mr. David Joyce Daube of Hamlet, Ind., Mr. James Lois Daube of Walkerton, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2006. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2006, Pastor Char Allen officiating. Interment will be at Tracy Cemetery in Hamlet, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louis M. Daube Memorial Scholarship for an Outstanding 4-H Student or the Walkerton United Methodist Church.
