Linda Sarvis

Mrs. Linda L. Sarvis, 67, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Friday February 12, 2010 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Michigan City, IN. She was born July 17, 1942 in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of Herman Fields and Nevalyn Warren Fields. Linda was the Director of Nursing for the Red Oaks Nursing Home in Michigan City, IN., she retired in 2004. She enjoyed cooking, watching football and feeding her hummingbirds. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. On July 28, 1964, in Lake Co., IN, she married Richard W. Sarvis, who preceded her in death January 14, 2007. She is survived by her son, Rick Sarvis of La Porte, IN; daughter, Barbara Schultz of LaPorte, IN; four grandchildren, Blaine D. Schultz, Joshua W. Schultz, Jacob L. Schultz, Frankie Ann Nevalyn Sarvis; three sisters, Melody, Becky Wade, Teressa "Terry" Hajduk; four brothers, Ron Fields, Richard Fields, Ted Fields, Don Fields. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 10:00 am, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday February 17, 2010 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Hugh Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, and Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the LaPorte Co. Animal Shelter 2855 W. Ind. 2 LaPorte, IN 46350.
