Lillian Powell

Mrs. Lillian A. Powell, age 93, of South Bend, Ind., died Monday, June 12, 2006, at 9:30 AM at her residence in South Bend, Ind. She was born September 28, 1912 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Walter Zarr and the late Pearl Morris Zarr Crouch. She has lived in South Bend, Ind. for to years coming from LaPorte, Ind. Mrs. Powell was a Homemaker. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church. Member of Order of Eastern Star-LaPorte, former Worthy Matron, had been an assistant Cub Scout Leader, enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts and visiting with family. She was married in 1931 to Eugene R. Powell who preceded her in death on June 10, 1970. She is also survived by her One Son, Mr. Phillip Powell of North Little Rock, Ark.; Two grandchildren, Patrice Lucas of Wellesley, Mass., Julie Sansone of North Fort Myers, Fl.; Two Step-grandchildren Angela Arata, Neal Carboneau; Two great-grandchildren Katherine and Charlotte Lucas of Wellsley, Mass.; Four Sisters, Mrs. Vera Cruzat of Bellevue, Wash., Mrs. Mary Jane William Taylor of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Betty Charles Kirkham of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Irene White of Los Angeles, Calif.; and One Brother, Mr. Ben Kathryn Zarr of La Porte, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2006. A Graveside service will be at Pine Lake Cemetery at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2006. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
