Leonard Grover

Leonard J. Grover, 64, of La Porte, IN, passed away, Monday, July 11, 2011 at his home. He was born April 3, 1947 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of George Grover and Lucille (Kaminski) Grover. Leonard worked as a supervisor for the Department of Child Services for the State of Indiana. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, current member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and past president. Leonard was a Eucharistic minister, usher, and he taught CCD classes at the church. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. On September 11, 1976, in LaPorte, IN, he married Patti (Pickering) Grover who survives. He is also survived by his; mother, Lucille Grover; son - Nicholas Grover of La Porte, IN; 3 brothers - Ronald Grover of Ray, MI, Edward Grover of North Augusta, SC, Michael Grover of Houston, TX; 2 sisters - Nancy Batchelor of Fir Crest, WA, Mary (John) Allen of Fish Lake, IN; many loved nieces, nephews & cousins. Leonard was preceded in death by his father. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Friday July 15, 2011 at 11:00 am with David Kime officiating. Burial of Ashes will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
