Leonard Carlson

Mr. Leonard "Swede" Carlson, age 89, of 4949 E. CR 1000 N., La Porte, Ind., died Monday, October 10, 2005, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born Aug. 11, 1016 in Chicago, IL. to the late Alexander Carlson and the late Josephine Nelson Carlson. He has lived in the LaPorte area most of his life. Mr. Carlson was employed by Allis Chalmers for 33 years and retired in 1979. He was Veteran of US Army during WW II, serving in England, Rolling Prairie VFW Post #9423, Mr. and Mrs. Carlson met during the Black-Outs during WW II. On June 10, 1944 in Bristol England he married Sadie Macey, who preceded in death Aug. 31, 1995. He is also survived by his Two Daughters, Mrs. Tamara Jeff Dohner of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Andrea Milich of La Porte, Ind.; Three Sons, Mr. Derek Carlson of Michigan City, Ind., Mr. Kit Darlene Carlson of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Lennie Carlson of La Porte, Ind.; Seven grandchildren, Richelle Scott Milich, Richard Milich Jr., David Carlson, Kevin Carlson, Dana Carlson, Joshua Darroll, Natasha Dohner; and Seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2005 and from 9:00 AM Thurs., Oct. 13, 2005 until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 13, 2005, with Pastor Jeff Bibb officiating. Interment will be at Lambs Chapel Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
