Leona Blake

Mrs. Leona Carol Blake Farver Doonan, age 82, of La Porte, IN, died Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Fountainview Terrace in La Porte, IN. She was born October 27, 1923 in LaPaz, IN, to Charles Farver and Fern Albert Farver, who has preceded. Also preceded in death is a Brother, Everett Farver, and a sister, Evelyn Arbuckle. Mrs. Doonan has lived most of her life in the LaPorte area. On December 6, 1942 she married Robert Emerson, who preceded August 25, 1971, her second married was in 1972 to William Doonan, who preceded, September 14, 2005. Mrs. Doonan was an owner/operator of Lonzo Oil Station, she was a member of Church of the Brethren, She was also a member of Eastern Star of Walkerton, IN., loved gardening, crewel work, sewing, loved to dance. Liked to fish and life. Surviving are Four Daughters, Carolyn Emily Ann Ken Cooley Blake of La Porte, IN, Birdie George Kribs of La Porte, IN, Kat Blake of Knoxville, Tenn, Step Daughter-Gail Doonan of Tinley Park, IL, Two Sisters, Kathleen Blake of Saint Cloud, Fla, Wanda Good of Travis City, Mich.Two Brothers, Mr. John Smith of Glendale, Ariz. Mr. Ted Smith of Plymouth, IN. She has Seven grandchildren, Ten great-grandchildren, Two great-great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, November 18, 2005, and from 10:00 AM Saturday 11/ 19/ 2005 until time of service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 19, 2005, with Rev. Jeff Zigler officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, IN.
