Leo Wayland

Leo A. Wayland September 25, 1933-January 12, 2017 Leo A. Wayland, 83, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday January 12, 2017 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born September 25, 1933 in Posey Co., Indiana, the son of Marcus L. Wayland and Ura A. (Ausley) Wayland. Retired from Howmet Corp. in 1999 after 39 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He attended the Assembly of God Church. On April 10, 1958, in La Porte, IN, he married Ethel M. (Corey) Wayland who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters, Jane Wayland of La Porte, IN, and Brenda L. (Greg) Miller of Sparta, MI; two grandchildren, Whitney Miller, Derek Miller; and brother-in-law, Tommy Reed. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, January 16, 2017, from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday January 16, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Greg Miller officiating.
