Leo Losey Sr.

Mr. Leo F. Losey Sr., 89, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday August 27, 2010 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born November 2, 1920 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Floyd Losey and Maude Hanney Losey. Leo worked for Modine Mfg Co. for 42 years before retiring in 1984. Leo attended the La Porte Assembly of God Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. He loved his family. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He enjoyed wood working and specialized in making furniture for children, there are examples of his work all over La Porte. On February 8, 1947, in La Porte, IN he married Betty Cottrill Losey who survives. He is also survived by his son Leo F. Gayle Losey Jr. of La Porte, IN; 27 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and a half-sister Frances Corsby of La Porte, IN; Leo was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sons, Thomas Losey, James Losey, David Losey; daughter Diana Minich; granddaughter, half-sister, Betty Day, and a half-brother, Howard Goodson. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, September 1, 2010 9:30 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday September 1, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Jeff Hines officiating. Interment will follow at the, Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, IN. where Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the American Legion-V.F.W. Honor Guard.
