Lena Hill

Mrs. Lena Hill, age 86, of New Carlisle, Ind., died Friday, January 9, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind. She was born on October 19, 1922 in Mercer County, Kentucky to the late Lee Russell and the late Ora Powell Russell. Lena had lived in the New Carlisle area, for sixty years, coming from Mercer County, Kentucky. Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and also worked at Hamilton Grove Communities in New Carlisle, Ind., retiring in 1984. She was a member of V.F.W Auxilliary of Rolling Prairie, Ind. and was an avid bingo player. On January 11, 1947, she married Delbert A. Hill, who preceded, April 23, 1994. She is survived by her; One Daughter, Debra Brad Morrie of New Carlisle, Ind.; Two Grandchildren, Marc Kelly Mrozinski and Andrew Debra Mrozinski and Six Great-grandchildren; One Sister, Nan Lou Bottoms of Harrodsburg, Ky.; One Niece, Wilma Long of New Carlisle, Ind. who helped take care of Lena, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Delbert A. Hill; One Son, Leon Taylor; Four Brothers, William, Ed, George and Johnie C. Russell. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST Sunday, January 11, 2009 and from 9:30 AM Monday, January 12, 2009, until time of service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:30 AM CST, Monday, January 12, 2009 with Rev. Dan McDonald officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek, Ind.
