Lela Halling

Mrs. Lela L. Halling, age 88, of La Porte, Ind., died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at 4:30 AM at her daughter's residence in La Porte, Ind. She was born March 22, 1918 in Wanatah, Ind. to the late Clifford Simonton and the late Ruby Campbell Simonton. Mrs. Halling was employed by Plimpton Press and retired in 1983 she had also worked at Kingsley Furniture. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. On November 5, 1938 in LaPorte, Indiana she married Kenneth Halling who preceded in death August 8, 2003. She is survived by her Daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Halling Raymond of La Porte, Ind.; Three grandchildren, Kimberly Clark, Kelly Danforth, Kevin Raymond; Six great-grandchildren; and Several Nieces and Nephews Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2006 and from 10:00 AM Tuesday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2006, Rev. Steve Laue officiating. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memorial Garden in Michigan City, Ind.
