Lawrence "Bill" H. Miller November 5, 1924-February 18, 2014 Mr. Lawrence "Bill" H. Miller, 89, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday February 18, 2014 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born November 5, 1924 in Kingsbury, Indiana, the son of Henry Miller and Laura (Bunton) Miller. Bill had worked for New York Blower for 27 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 135 and was an US Army Veteran serving over seas, during WW II. On November 22, 1947, he married Evelyn (Reading) Miller who survives. They were married for 66 years. He is also survived by his 2 daughters - Judy (Don) Waldrop of La Porte, IN, Pam (John) Pierzakowski of La Porte, IN; 3 grandchildren - Heather (Jerry) Daugherty of Austin, TX, Amber (Kevin) Jakel of Chesterton, IN, John (Nicole) Pierzakowski of South Bend, IN; 4 great-grandchildren - Breyanna Ackerman, Ethan Daugherty, Madeline and Nicholas Jakel; and step-brother - Melvin Ott of TX. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Edward, and Howard Miller, 2 sisters, Bernice Hyatte, Betty Gribble, and half-sister, Margaret Abel. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will be held at Pine Lake Cemetery, Monday February 24, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jeff Hines officiating. Burial of Ashes will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. A Military Service will be conducted by the LaPorte Honor Guard at the cemetery.
