Lawrence Christine

Mr. Lawrence E. Christine, age 82, of La Porte, Ind., died 1:25 PM Friday, September 1, 2006, at his residence in La Porte, Ind. He was born September 18, 1923 in Robinson, IL. to the late Orla Christine and the late Bessie Richardson Christine. He has lived in the LaPorte area since 1943 coming from Robinson, Ill. Mr. Christine was employed by NIPSCO as a mechanic and welder for 25 years. He retired in 1985. He was a member of LaPorte Assembly of God Church. He was a Veteran of US Army during WW II. On July 3, 1941 in Marshall, Ill. he married Alvena Creed who preceded in death December 12, 1996. He is survived by his Two Daughters, Mrs. Janet Brewer of LaPorte, Ind., Mrs. Judith Anne Camilo Rubio of Brandon, Fla.; Two Sons, Mr. Jerry D. Martha Christine, Mr. Rick Christine of La Porte, Ind.; Eight grandchildren Jeffrey Christine, Phillip Christine, Brian Christine, Julie Young, Michael Rubio, Peter Rubio, Christina Rubio, Andrea Summerlin; Nine great-grandchildren; and One Brother, Mr. Olin Christine of Robinson, Ill. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday, September 4, 2006 and Noon Tuesday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 4:00 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2006, Rev. Jeffrey A. Hines officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
