Larry Dale Stafford, 84, of Mill Creek, Indiana, passed away Tuesday October 24, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

 He was born July 20, 1939 in Bowling Green, KY, the son of Charles A. Stafford and Josephine (Garaffa) Stafford-Jones.

Larry moved to South Bend, IN as a child, then on to Rolling Prairie, IN in 1952. He graduated from Rolling Prairie High School in 1957.  In 1961 he married the love of his life, Kathleen Baumgartner, who survives. Larry worked as a foreman for Easy Heat, American Roller and Aero-Flo Industries, from where he retired. After retirement, he worked for Macog for 13 years.  He was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church in Rolling Prairie, American Legion Post 0297 in New Carlisle and the Knights of Columbus, Rolling Prairie. Larry was a lifelong bowler, bowling in several leagues. He was also an avid Notre Dame Football fan, holding season tickets for 30 years. Most importantly, he enjoyed his family and spending time with them.

Larry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen; a son, Stephen Lawrence Stafford of Playa Del Rey, CA; a daughter Kimberly Suezanne (John) Darnell of Rolling Prairie, IN; grandchildren, Paige (Andrew) Starnes, Tyler (Adaimee) Kessler, Jacob Kessler, Tyler (Ashley) Darnell, Rebecca Gwilt; 5 great-grandchildren, Makayla, Gage, Bryce, Koby, and Jaxon.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN, where the family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St John Kanty Catholic Church, 7012 N. 600 E, Rolling Prairie, IN,  with The Reverend Father Heimer, officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John Kanty Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana.
