Lacelia Kliss

LaCelia Kliss August 11, 1923-December 8, 2016 LaCelia White Kliss passed away Thursday December 8, 2016 in LaPorte, Indiana at the age of 93. LaCelia was born on August 11, 1923 in Kingsbury, Indiana to Florence (nee Wickham) and Llewelyn White. LaCelia married Walter J. Kliss on April 17, 1947. LaCelia graduated from Kingsbury High School and LaPorte Business College, before beginning her working life at the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant during World War II. After the war, LaCelia worked at The Rumley Hotel where she met her future husband, Walter. LaCelia returned to KOP during the Korean conflict, after which she then served in many capacities in the family businesses, including the Lake Shore Café, The Beachcombers, and most recently as the bookkeeper and receptionist at Kliss Electronics. LaCelia is survived by her son David Kliss of LaPorte, Indiana and daughter Veronica Kliss of Sherman, Texas, grandson James Kliss of LaPorte, Indiana, niece Jo Ann Burke and her children Pam Burke and Mark Burke of Cape Coral, Florida, nieces Debbie Christian, Annette Hesters, Sophie Reczuch, Nancy Williamson, Kathleen White, and nephews Jerry Reczuch and James White. LaCelia is preceded in death by her husband Walter, sister Lois Nelson, and brothers Warren and William White. A private interment will be held at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, Indiana at a later date.
