Kenneth E. Zoborosky July 27, 1937-August 22, 2018 Kenneth E. Zoborosky, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. He was born July 27, 1937 in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Leo Zoborosky and Kathryn (Downs) Zoborosky. Kenneth retired from Inland Steel in 1998 after forty-four years as a licensed machinist. He was a member of the Sunday Farmers and the International Karting Association. Kenneth was a nationally competitive go-kart racer, racing go-karts all around the country winning many titles and awards. He enjoyed waterskiing, snowmobiling, and taking care of his yard and farm. In his retirement years, he enjoyed restoring John Deere Tractors and having them shown around the country. Kenneth also loved spending time with his grandchildren and raising current two Rough Collie dogs, Max and Ruby. On July 11, 1959, in Salem Chapel, La Porte, Indiana, he married Marilyn (Rose) Zoborosky who survives in La Porte, Indiana. He is also survived by his son, Scott (Roxann) Zoborosky of La Porte, IN; daughter, Tamara Smiertelny of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, Alexander Zoborosky, Catherine Zoborosky, Gabrielle Smiertelny, Hunter Smiertelny; brother, Gerald (Shirley) Zoborosky of La Porte, IN; sister, Patricia (James) Nash of Greenville, MI; son-in-law, prior Leonard Smiertelny of Indianapolis, IN. Kenneth was preceded in death by both his parents. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Sunday, August 26, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Monday, August 27, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Deacon Christopher Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
