Kenneth M. Holland, 79, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Northwest Health-La Porte in La Porte, IN.

He was born July 8, 1941 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, the son of John Yonek and Veronica Holland.

Ken was always known to everyone as "Papa". He was the patriarch of the family who never met a stranger. He held a jolly disposition all the time and was a mentor at Hanley Elementary School for many years. Ken was enlisted in the Navy on the USS Forrestal where he would provide the steam that would propel the planes. Through all of this his true passion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Loretta; daughter, Sherri (Tiffany) Holland of South Bend, IN; son, Bill (Kristine) Holland of Crown Point, IN; Two Step-Daughters, Tabatha (Mark Sr.) Whitten of WI, and Teonna (Stan) Janczak of NY; seven Grandchildren, Amy Grammas, Mark Whitten, Brandon Music, Margaret Dickerson, Brooke Mosher, Evan and Michael Holland; and 5 great-grandchildren and sister LaVerne Carey who resides in Florida.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Eric Grammas.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, January 6 from 11-1 PM.  A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Wednesday January 6, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
