Kenneth Clayton

Mr. Kenneth A. Clayton, age 73, of La Porte, Ind., died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. Mr. Clayton was born July 4, 1934 in Taylorville, IL, and was the son of the late Charles Clayton and the late Nathalee Thomas Clayton. Mr. Clayton lived in the LaPorte area since 1956, coming from IL. On June 10, 1961 in Rolling Prairie, Ind, he married Danette Reese, who survives. Mr. Clayton was employed by CSX-Railroad and also Chesapeake railroad in Ohio, as a Clerk & Bridge tender. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Unit Citation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, he was a Boyscout Leader-Order of the Arrow Award. He was a woodcrafter, loved airplanes, and dog shows, was on the Indian Dance Team. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Danette Reese Clayton; of LaPorte, Ind, Daughter, Mary Klein of Highland, Ind. Daughter, Susan Rutherford of Carmel, Ind. Two Sisters, Phyllis Garwood of La Porte, Ind. Melva Garwood of Fort Myers, Fla. Three grandchildren, Andrea Klein, of Highland, Ind, Lauren Rutherford, of Carmel, Ind, Zachary Rutherford, of Carmel, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 21, 2008. Also from 11:00 AM until time of service Tuesday April 22, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:30 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2008 , with Rev. Mark Daniel officiating.
