Katheryn Ardel Ainsworth, 79, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family in La Porte, IN.
She was born November 10, 1941 in Porter, Indiana, the daughter of Wayne McCorkel and Loretta Mae (White) McCorkel.
Katheryn lived a very full life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and canning her own vegetables. She enjoyed snowmobiling and motorcycles especially Harley Davidson's. She loved her horses and was always up early to take care of them regardless of the weather. She was a crafter and designed jewelry. But everyone will agree that the biggest passion in Katheryn's life was her family. She loved to be with them and they were her #1 joy in life.
On February 14, 1985, in La Porte, she married Gerald Ainsworth who preceded in death.
She is survived by her three daughters, Robin (Joe) Fiorito of La Porte, IN, Celine Hicks of La Porte, IN, Theresa (Milo) Bellis of Rolling Prairie, IN; son, Thomas (Dawn) Deiotte of Wheatfield, IN; two brothers, William McCorkel, Michael (Diane) McCorkel; sister, Betty (Max) Hutka; step-children, Karrie Clark (Scott), Gosehn, IN; step son Corey Ainsworth (Tina) Collman, AL; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Katheryn was preceded in death by her son, Matthew D. Deiotte, and brother, David McCorkel. Sister Barbara McIntrye.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, September 17 from 10 AM until 12 Noon. A life celebration will be held at the funeral home at 12 Noon, with Father Nate Edquist officiating. Private interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana.
Everyone is invited to attend a gathering at the Pinola Grange Hall 5005 IN-2 La Porte, IN right after the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Haverstock Funeral Home.
