Katherine Charlotte Small July 31, 1930-March 8, 2017 Katherine C. Small, 86, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital in La Porte, Indiana. She was born July 31, 1930 in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Lewis and Laura (Hacker) Eggert. Katherine retired in 1994 after 25 years working as a food service manager for La Porte Community Schools. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of La Porte and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially Jameson and Sheldon. On January 22, 1955, in La Porte, Indiana, she married Stanley Small who preceded in death December 18, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy (John) Moore of Michigan City, IN; son, David (Kim) Small of La Porte, IN; two grandsons, Matthew (Sarah ) Jones of Grand Rapids, MI, Nathan Jones of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Wilbur (Mary) Eggert of La Porte, IN, Lewis (Judy) Eggert of Mill Creek, IN; sister-in-law, Maxine Eggert of La Porte, IN. She was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Eggert; two sisters, Betty Routt and Louise Mrozinski. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Sunday, March 12, 2017, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Monday, March 13, 2017, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Vale officiating.
