June Butts June 22, 1935-December 5, 2009 June Butts, 74, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday December 5, 2009 at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke Hospital in Chicago, IL. She was born June 22, 1935 in Roda, Virginia, the daughter of Emmett Lee Bowen and Della Mae Haggard Bowen. She has lived in the LaPorte area for 50 years coming from Kentucky. June was co-owner and bookkeeper for Air Sweep for 25 years and then worked as the switchboard operator at Wal-Mart for 11 1/2 years. She was a very active member of Church of Christ. She loved to knit and crochet and spending quality time with her family. She is survived by her son Mark Butts of La Porte, IN; daughter Tina Bernacchi of Monticello, IN; four grandchildren Andrea Schoonover, Erin Nebelung, Mark Anthony Butts II, Paden Kentaft; 4 great grandchildren; brother Walt Carol Bowen of LaPorte, IN; and several nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jenny Engle. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, December 08, 2009 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, December 09, 2009 10:00 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Haferkamp and Rev. Rex Butts officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ 1616 I St., LaPorte, IN 46350.
