Judith A. Thomas August 20, 1939-October 17, 2019 Judith A. Thomas, 80, of La Porte, IN, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Life Care Center of Michigan City in Michigan City, IN. She was born August 20, 1939 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Carl H. Helt and Lucille E.(Snyder) Helt. Judith was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church-La Porte. She was the Past-Vice President of Union Township Alumni Association. Judith loved animals as well as working with flowers, sewing, and crochet. She was the owner/operator of "Judy's Styling Bar" for over 30 years. She also loved her special dog Button Ann. On , December 13, 1958 in Union Mills, she married Dennis C. Thomas who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Dawnn (James) Sims of Union Mills, IN; son, Jody (Patricia) Thomas of Columbia City, IN; brother, Truman Carl (Lois) Helt; a half-sister Rose Mary Helt of Michigan; three grandaughters, Jennifer Lee (Eric) Bidlack of Lake Placid, FL; Demi Thomas of Fort Wayne, IN; Emily Thomas of Fort Wayne, IN; two grandsons, Trever Thomas of Fort Wayne, IN, Joshua Ryan Sims of Lake Placid, FL; Step Grandson, Michael Sims of South Center, IN; Great-Grandaughter, Emma Leigh Bidlack; Great -Grandson, Peyton Scott Bidlack; as well as many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Monday, Oct 28 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will at 1 pm on Monday, Oct 28 at Haverstock Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, IN. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN.
