Joyce Barnes

Mrs. Joyce H. Barnes, age 88, of La Porte, Ind., died Friday, August 8, 2008, at Golden Living Fountainview Terrace in La Porte, Ind. She was born May 5, 1920 in LaPorte, Ind.to the late Noah McCormick and the late May Fowler McCormick. She lived most of her life in the LaPorte, Ind. area. She Married on June 7, 1946 to Wilson C. Barnes, who preceded, in March 6, 1988. Joyce's family was most important to her, she enjoyed working as a homemaker and also worked in Levine's Dept. Store for 25 years as a sales clerk. She enjoyed traveling and dancing. She volunteered her time at Countryside Nursing Home leading worship and music.. . She is survived by her ; Two Daughters, Patricia G. Thomas Kessler of La Porte, Ind., Sharon Barnes of La Porte, Ind.; Three Grandchildren, Michael L. Sharon Kessler of Yukon, OK, Michelle L. James Maesch of LaPorte, Ind., and Robert G. Teresa Kessler of Bloomington, Ind.; Four Great-grandchildren; Ryan Kessler, Alex Kessler, Reed Kessler, all of Yukon, OK. and Ian Kessler of Bloomington, Ind. She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband; Wilson C. Barnes; Four Sisters; Myrtle Shank, Irene Altig, Leona Hanna, and Margaret Eskridge. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, August 11, 2008. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Monday, August 11, 2008 with Jo Ellen Chadwick, officiating. Internment will be in the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Ind.
