Joseph Pozil

Mr. Joseph J. Pozil, age 89, of La Porte, IN, died Friday, October 28, 2005, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born January 13, 1916, in Michigan City, IN, to Paul Pozil and Julia Roza Pozil, who has preceded. Also preceded in death are four brothers, Mr. John Pozil, Mr. George Pozil, Mr. Steve Pozil, Mr. Louie Pozil, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Sparks, Mrs. Rose Grieger, Vera Heath. Mr. Pozil lived in the LaPorte area for 65 years, coming from Clinton Twp, in Cass County. On Aug. 5 1938 he was married to Mary Moss Pozil, she preceded in death in 1994. Mr. Pozil was employed by Whirlpool Corp; as a Maintenance worker For 23 years. He owned a Ceramic Shop in LaPorte for 20 years, he built motorcycles and loved woodworking. Surviving is a Daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Bender of Niles, Mich. One Sister, Mrs. Velma Garner of Mishawaka, IN, One Brother, Mr. Alex Pozil of Texas. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2005. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2005 , with Mr. Roy McNeal, Funeral Director and Certified Funeral Celebrant.
