Mr. Joseph Jemiolo, 76, of 3405 Silverbrook Ave., LaPorte, passed away Friday, April 9, 2004 at LaPorte Hospital. He was born May 2, 1927, in Southwick, MA to John and Victoria Harwood Jemiolo, and had lived in the LaPorte area most of his life. Mr. Jemiolo, married Nancy Evans, on March 15, 1952, in Ayer MA, and she survives. He worked for American Can, Chicago, IL, as a maintenance mechanic, retiring in 1989. He also had worked as a life underwriter before moving to this area. Joseph was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Life underwriters training council, National Guard and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and Germany from 1948 to 1955 also the American Legion Post #0403 of Wanatah, IN. Surviving with his wife Nancy are three daughters; Victoria Miller of new Castle, IN, Miss Joni Jemiolo of West Palm Beach, FL, Kristi Richard Brown of LaPorte, IN, one son; Joseph Kathy Jemiolo of LaPorte, IN, five sisters; Josephine Florek and Helen Arnold both of Southwick, MA, Charlotte Krason and Carol Kowalcyzk both of Chicopee, MA, and Stella Skubis of South Bend IN, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceding in death were his parents, two sons; David and Steven Jemiolo, two brothers; John and Leon Jemiolo, one sister; Jean Carlson, and one grandson Dan Jemiolo A funeral service will be at the Haverstock Funeral Home, Wednesday April 14, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Vincent officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday April 13, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 9:00a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. American Legion Post #0403 of Wanatah will conduct a walk through service just before the start of the service.
