Mr. Joseph T. Jeffries, age 64, of Kingsford Heights, IN, died Sunday, January 8, 2006, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born June 13, 1941 in Walls, Mississippi, to Solomon Jeffries and Virginia Thornton Jeffries, who has preceded. Also preceded are two sisters, and four brothers. Mr. Jeffries has lived in the Kingsford Heights, IN area for 43 years, coming from Arkansas. Mr. Jeffries was employed by Howmet Corp. as a Alloy-Cutter, for 25 years, retiring in 1990. Bartender at the American Legion in Kingsford Heights, IN., also at the Four Aces Bar and the Webb Bar. Surviving is his two sisters, Sister-Versie M. Jeffries of Kingsford Heights, IN, Mrs. Lu Cooper of Kingsford Heights, IN, Two Brothers, Mr. Solomon Jeffries, Jr. of Julius, Ark, Mr. Earnest Jeffries of Edmondson, Ark, Three Sons, Mr. Don Jeffries of Fort Wayne, IN, Mr. Eric Jeffries of South Bend, IN, Mr. Shane Cooper of La Porte, IN, Three Daughters, Angala Jeffries of Kingsford Heights, IN, Mrs. Kathy Bantz of Kingsford Heights, IN, Mrs. Chris Wolfebargar of Crown Point, IN, Three grandchildren, Bryce Reed, of Kingsford Heights, IN, Tatiana Rodiquez, of Kingsford Heights, IN, Kimani Woodard of Kingsford Heights, IN. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of Kingsford Heights. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church of Kingsford Heights at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2006 , with Rev. John Talley III officiating.
